What we hold, and what never leaves your phone.

Sensei Learning(“Sensei”, “we”) is the data controller for the limited personal data described in this notice. We operate from Nigeria and process data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where it applies to visitors outside Nigeria, the UK/EU GDPR.

Questions, requests or complaints go to privacy@jurasensei.com. We answer within 14 days, and always within the 30 days the NDPA allows.

The practice engine runs entirely in your browser. When you answer a question, the resulting record — the question identifier, whether you were right, how long you took, and the updated mastery estimate — is written to your browser’s local storage under a single key, sensei.profile.v1.

That record is not sent to us. There is no account, no login, no analytics call attached to it, and no server-side copy. If you clear your browser data, or press Erase everything on this device on the practice page, it is gone and we cannot recover it — because we never had it.

Local storage is not a cookie and is not used to track you across sites. It is read only by the Sensei page you have open.

• Early-access form. Your email address and the role you select (student, teacher or parent). Legal basis: your consent (NDPA s.25(1)(a); GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Purpose: to tell you when your cohort opens. Retention: until you ask us to delete it, or 24 months after the programme closes, whichever is sooner.
• Correspondence. If you email us, we keep the thread so we can answer it. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to you.
• Server logs. Standard web request logs held by our hosting provider (IP address, timestamp, requested path, user agent), retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the service available.

We do not collect your name, school, phone number, exam results, date of birth, or location. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics scripts, and we do not set marketing cookies.

Sensei is designed for candidates preparing for WAEC and JAMB, most of whom are between 15 and 18. We treat that seriously rather than as a footnote.

• Practising is possible without giving us anything at all — no email, no account. A student can use the entire product anonymously.
• If you are under 18 and want to join the early-access list, ask a parent, guardian or teacher to submit the form on your behalf. Where the NDPA requires verifiable parental consent for a child’s data, we will not enrol a submission we believe came directly from a child without it.
• We do not profile students for advertising, sell data, or share individual performance with anyone.

A parent or guardian may email privacy@jurasensei.com to see or delete anything associated with a child’s email address.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. The only third parties involved are the infrastructure providers that make the site reachable:

• Hosting and CDN. Serves the pages and holds the short-lived request logs described above.
• Email delivery. Used only to send the single message telling you your cohort has opened.

These providers act on our instructions under written terms, and some may process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens we rely on the transfer mechanisms permitted by the NDPA and, where relevant, standard contractual clauses.

We would disclose data if a Nigerian court or regulator lawfully required it. Nothing else.

Under the NDPA and the GDPR you can ask us to:

• confirm what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
• correct anything inaccurate;
• delete it (“right to be forgotten”);
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• port it to another service in a machine-readable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, with no effect on past processing.

Email privacy@jurasensei.com. We do not charge for this. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

For practice data specifically, the fastest route is the erase button on the practice page — it is instant and does not involve us.

The site is served over HTTPS only. Waitlist records are held with access limited to the people who need it, and we keep no database of student performance to lose in the first place — a design decision, not an accident. No system is perfect; if a breach affected you we would notify you and the NDPC as the NDPA requires.

If we change what we collect, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is material and we hold your email address, tell you directly. We will never quietly start collecting practice data under an old notice.
